North Berks Match Week 9

Division One
Westminster returned back to the top of the table and maintained their record of scoring in every game this season when they travelled to Stanford-In-The-Vale and claimed all three points in a fine 5-2 victory with Cameron Lagan scoring twice with Michael Hooton, Dan Hill and Luke Lewis-Rippington also hitting the target whilst Stanford replied through a Josh Vaughn double. Long Wittenham continued with their fine run of form when they travelled back from East Hendred and posted a 5-0 victory with goals coming from Steve Pyne,Will Houseman, Lewis Monahan, Arran Colley and an own goal. Lambourn Sports got back to winning ways when they recorded a hard fought 2-1 victory over Steventon thanks to two goals from Leonard Khan whilst Alex Dawson replied for the home side.

Division Two
Saxton Rovers Reserves continued where they left off last week and claimed a fine 4-0 victory over Watlington Town which keeps them six points clear at the top thanks to goals from Henry Hall, Pat Mannix, Ryan Drew and Scott Macarthur. Ardington moved into the shadow of the leaders when they travelled to Benson Lions and posted a thumping 7-1 victory thanks to a four timer from Jamie Gregory with Nick Wilkins, Tom Eatwell and Luke Faircloth also hitting the target whilst Jordan Jones scored for Benson.

Division Three
Cholsey returned to winning ways and stayed top of the table when they recorded a thumping 7-2 victory over Uffington United thanks to two goals from James Purdue and Liam Woods with Howard Hawkins, Steve Hawes and Craig Passey also hitting the net whilst Dalton Harefield and Chris Bell scored for the visitors. East Hendred Reserves kept on the leaders heals when they posted a hard fought 3-2 victory over Drayton thanks to Ben Eltham who scored twice and Tom North whilst Josh Dennis and Carl Bolton scored for Drayton. Long Wittenham Reserves also claimed another three points and now have not been beaten since their opening day fixture with claiming a fine 4-0 victory over Wallingford Town A with goals from Josh Axtell, Conor Thomas, Nick Townsend and Will Vaukins.Letcombe Reserves travelled to Lambourn Sports Reserves and returned with a fine 6-1 victory thanks to a four timer from Charlie Knight with further goals coming from Zach Pettifer and Jay Johnson with Kean Greening scoring for Lambourn. Marcham winning run came to an end when they were held to a 3-3 draw at home to Hagbourne United with Stuart Armstrong, Jamie Salter and Steve Mundy all finding the net whilst Dom Lovegrove, Dan McCulloch and Alex Rodman replied for Hagbourne.

Division Four
Cumnor Minors U21 went to the top of Division Four when they travelled to Hagbourne Reserves and claimed a narrow 3-2 victory with Jordan Howe scoring twice and Levi Webb also hitting the target whilst George Smith and Jake Lee replied for Hagbourne.

North Berks War Memorial Cup 1st Round
Blewbury moved into the next round of the cup when they won 3-1 in the all Division two clash against Compton thanks to goals from Charles Jamieson, Boyan Thorpe and Jason McCabe whilst Mike Booroff scored for Compton. Division One Hanney United avoided embarrassment against Division Four Hanney 66 Club in the Hanney derby when they posted a 3-0 victory with Neil Pimm, James Bishop and Matt Woodside all finding the target.Harwell Village were in the goals again this week when they beat Sutton Courtenay 5-2 thanks to two goals each from Gareth Fenton and James Tanner with Jamie Nutter also hitting the net whilst Rhys Griffiths and Jack Sewell replied for Sutton. Wallingford Town Reserves wasted no time in winning their cup tie when posted a thumping 7-0 victory over North Oxford with Charlie Silkstone hitting a four timer whilst Matt Williams,Cedric Nkouh and Dan Walkingshaw also found the target.

North Berks League Cup 1st Round.
Watlington Town Reserves moved into the next round of the competition when three posted a hard fought 4-3 victory over Faringdon Town A thanks to two goals from Sam Carter Knight with Fraser Wilson and Alex McLay also hitting the net whilst Faringdon replied through two goals from Rich Evans with Jason Evans scoring the other goal.
