North Berks Round Up

North Berks Charity Shield Group A
Long Wittenham moved to top of the group when they entertained North Oxford and posted a fine 5-1 victory with Aaron Colley scoring twice with Sam Sheppard, Sam Borland and Kieron Cooper also finding the target whilst Merhawi Haile scored for North Oxford. In the other game in the group Watlington Town travelled to Mill Lane and claimed a mini shock by coming away with a narrow 2-1 victory with Ben Little and Ashley Dixon scoring for the visitors whilst Mike Farrelly scored for Hendred.

North Berks Charity Shield Group C
Westminster went back top of the group with a thumping 9-0 victory over Steventon thanks to a Andy Younie hat-trick with Tom Srawley scoring twice with further goals coming from Seb Hickey, Max Waterson, Mike Hooton and Luke Lewis-Rippington.

North Berks Charity Shield Group D
In Group D Saxton Rovers extended their record of not conceding this season when they travelled to Cottage Road and posted a fine 7-0 victory thanks to a Tom Stanley hat-trick with Dan Parry, Niall Hodgkins, Joe Pratley and Louis Bloomfield also finding the target. Faringdon Town Reserves claimed all three points in the other game in the group when they beat Sutton Courtenay 4-3 at Tucker Park with Sam Gorham, Adam Sly, Mark Loveridge and Valentin Ivanov all scoring for the home side whilst Kevin Page scored twice and Rhys Griffiths replied for the visitors.

Division One
Berinsfield moved up to second place in the table and remained unbeaten when they travelled to Lambourn Sports and claimed a fine 6-0 victory thanks to a Mark Ingram four timer which included three penalty’s with Max Palmer and Josh Rough also finding the target.

Division Two
Blewbury continued where they left off last week and claimed a thumping 8-2 victory over Crowmarsh thanks to a John Willis hat-trick with Jason McCabe, Warren McCabe, Chris Crickmore and Bryn Ingram also finding the net whilst Scott Gesner scored both Crowmarsh goals.

Division Three
Long Wittenham Reserves moved to second in the table when they recorded a narrow 1-0 victory over Hagbourne United with Callum Bowler scoring the only goal of the game. Marcham and East Hendred Reserves claimed a point a piece in a 1-1 draw at the Howard Cornish Ground with Tom Cousins scoring for Marcham whilst Liam Eltham scored for the visitors. Lambourn Sports Reserves bounced up to mid table when they travelled to Uffington Reserves and posted a 3-1 victory.

Division Four
Watlington Town Reserves moved into second place in the table with a fine 8-0 victory over Steventon Reserves thanks to a Adam Butler hat-trick with Ryan Jesson,Tom Andrews, Fraser Wilson, Gary Deighton and Darren Outten also found the target. Ardington Reserves moved up into third place with a 2-0 victory over Hagbourne Reserves with Jordan Goddard and Dale Cameron scoring the goals. Faringdon Town A claimed all three points when they beat Hanney 66 Club 4-3 thanks to a Jason Evans hat-trick with Jack Green also finding the net whilst John Green who scored twice and Aiden Collins replied for the visitors.

North Berks Cup 1st Round
Division Three leaders were knocked out at the first hurdle when they were beaten 3-2 after extra time by Division Four Cumnor Minors U21 with Steve Hawes and Wayne Mangan scoring for Cholsey whilst Ben Branton, Cameron Pomroy and Jordan Howe scored for Cumnor with Cholsey having keeper Matthew Leech dismissed in extra time which resulted in the winning penalty.
Berks & Bucks Cup Junior Cup 1st Round
Drayton earned a trip to Hagbourne United in the second round after they beat Wallingford Town Reserves 3-0 at the Drayton Recreation Ground thanks to goals from Josh Dennis, Nathan Merry and veteran Richard Chilvers
Berks & Bucks Cup Intermediate Cup 2nd Round
It was good news for both North Berks sides with Compton claiming a 5-1 victory over Appleford with Ben Brzoska scoring twice whilst further goals came from Jack Baker,Ralando Harrison and an own goal. Kintbury Rangers Reserves also moved into the next round with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Harchester Hawks with goals from Mikey Annetts and Luke Conner.
